Representative panel of credit institutions
Euribor® is grounded, to the extent possible, in actual transactions executed on the unsecured euro money market.
The rates are calculated based on contributions made by a panel of credit institutions called ‘Panel Banks’, which are all active participants in this market. They have been selected with a twofold objective:
- To reflect adequately the diversity of the euro money market
- To ensure that Euribor® is representative of its underlying market
The current panel of 19 banks contributing to the determination of Euribor® is fully representative of the Underlying Interest and consists of:
Austria Belgium France HSBC Continental Europe Natixis Crédit Agricole s.a. Société Générale Germany DZ Bank Italy UniCredit |
Luxembourg Netherlands Portugal Spain Banco Santander CECABANK CaixaBank S.A. UK |
All contributors are required to comply with the requirements laid down in the Euribor® Code of Obligations of Panel Banks for aspects related to their contribution procedures. Panel Banks must furthermore confirm their adherence to the Code annually.
