Stefano Carcascio

Stefano Carcascio is an economist with a distinguished career in central banking and international finance. He began his tenure at Banca d’Italia in 1976, holding roles in monetary policy, international financial relations, and the regulation of financial markets. In 1999, he became Head of a department responsible for overseeing financial market infrastructures.
In 2007, Mr. Carcascio was appointed Chief Representative in the UK and Ireland and Financial Attaché at the Italian Embassy in London. Since retiring in 2012, he has advised institutions such as CSRPBI Bank and the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF).
Mr. Carcascio holds a degree in Political and Social Sciences from the University of Rome "La Sapienza," graduating magna cum laude. He has also served as a Researcher and Assistant Professor of Economic Policy
